The final post

We spent our last month in the Chesapeake Bay area, exploring its many rivers and creeks.   Marker buoys were popular nesting spots for osprey families.  Adults have a wing span of about six feet, so our up close views from the cockpit were ever so respectful.  The first five photos were taken along the Tred Avon River, near Oxford, Maryland.   It would have been easy to spend the whole summer there.

Catching Up with Overdue Images

A pile of photos accompanies this prose. The images range from Great Isaac Light still in the Bahamas to the FL/GA border at Cumberland Island, views of the sailboats Verkennen and Kyeta, both from TC, the Dismal Swamp and our ever wonderful lock tender at Deep Creek on the Dismal Swamp Canal, Norfolk Navy Yard, Tangier Island, home of fabulous crab dishes and banana splits along with Milton Parks, our retired waterman/harbormaster, and Dietrich's morning on the water with watermen from Fairport, VA. In addition, the Lisa and Jim Favors of TC and friends on Kismet docked at Solomons, VA., Kyeta, Verkennen and Calliope while at Calabash, N.C., expecting to drag anchor but did not, one more Dolphin Fish and Calliope finding that auxiliary power can be had using the dinghy as tug boat when the engine simply refuses to operate as expected.
